Welcome to DecentWorld
DecentWorld, an immersive Swiss-owned, blockchain-based metaverse, opened its doors to users worldwide on March 1st, 2022. On a quest to revolutionize not only the blockchain industry, but also the way people own real estate, DecentWorld aims to create a virtual experience with real-life value. The company’s goal for the immediate future is to provide a platform on which users can engage in various activities, such as working, playing, shopping, socializing, and co-creating.
In DecentWorld, users can mint and trade digital Assets on the company’s metaverse. Digital Assets that have been minted in DecentWorld are permanently owned by the community, giving them full control over their virtual property to either keep, trade, exchange, gift, or stake at their choosing. Users claim ownership of virtual properties on a blockchain-based ledger of parcels. DecentWorld uses smart contracts to maintain a ledger of ownership for all digital property in the metaverse.
DecentWorld’s Assets
The DecentWorld project offers users the unique possibility of minting and trading scarce NFTs as Streets via an in-house, interactive 2D map. The primary objective of the metaverse is for users to trade scarce NFTs in a gamified way on the Secondary Marketplace. These Streets can also be combined into Collections, which, when staked, can generate yield for their owners.
Overall, there are more than 18.5 million Streets available for minting on DecentWorld’s 2D Map, with prices varying from 40 to 4 million DWRLD, depending on the demand for, and popularity of the Street. In the near future, users will be able to sell their Collections on the Secondary Marketplace as stand-alone NFTs.
Virtual Streets on DecentWorld are divided into four different levels, depending on the status of their real-world locations: Basic, Standard, Premium, and Elite. The more prominent or prestigious a street is in the physical world, the higher its ranking, and thus the more valuable it is in the DecentWorld metaverse.
The creative team has additionally implemented a feature called MysteryBox, which gives users the unique opportunity to win exclusive Street NFTs for a fraction of their value. Each MysteryBox is a zero-loss experience and costs as little as 40 DWRLD, however the Street NFTs found inside have price tags ranging from anywhere between 40 DWRLD, to hundreds, or even thousands of DecentWorld Tokens. Which one a user unlocks depends entirely on luck.
Furthermore, the team is currently working on a new feature, which will allow the users to mint and trade Buildings NFTs, and is scheduled to become available in the last quarter of 2022.
The First 3D Environment – Downtown Dubai
In August of 2022, the team launched its first 3D environment, created using the latest Unreal Engine technology. The 3D Downtown Dubai environment can be downloaded and accessed on PC and Mac. Currently, DecentWorld operates only on desktop, which means that VR equipment is not needed at this time.
Users can join DecentWorld’s metaverse free of charge by simply creating an account and downloading the engine from the DecentWorld website. When joining Downtown Dubai, users can easily select one of the available avatars to represent them in the metaverse and, after loading into Dubai, users are then free to move around the virtual city either on foot, or by hopping onto one of the available electric scooters. They can then choose to interact with other users, as well as to mint and trade NFTs.
Downtown Dubai currently has two Billboards, enabling third-party companies to purchase unique metaverse advertising spaces. In this way, businesses can elect to place advertisements for their brands, giving them exposure to explorers in the metaverse.
The 3D Downtown Dubai environment will be soon enriched with gaming mechanics, and e-commerce gateways, providing users with a seamless, 360 experience.
In the future, DecentWorld plans to open its metaverse up to further third-party integrations in the form of shops, activities, and a range of other entertainment facilities.
